To address a few concerns/comments- There is currently no set update schedule. I am uploading as double page spreads until this chapter is complete (it is 61 pages long). Chapter 9 returns to the Calanthian side (aka, Aiden, Perth, Aubrey, etc.). I am currently working a day job which I have just recently moved from full time employment (40hrs) to part time (32 hours- i dropped a day of work). I am under contract to draw a new webcomic, Kindling, which begins June 19th. In addition, I have freelance work I am doing (I have an outstanding commission from last year as well as several anthologies. I recently completed a mural). That said, Macchina is my baby, and I love it very much, but paid work (my day job, Kindling, and commissions/anthologies) take precedence over my unpaid work (Macchina). I would very much appreciate your understanding in this matter. I have no intention of dropping Macchina, but due to my schedule, I can’t promise regularity to updates. I’m working very hard to meet ALL my obligations, so please bear with me in this time of tumult! I appreciate all of you who have stuck with me.
One day, I shall be able to move to full time freelance work and be able to update like I used to when I was in college (2-3x a week). But for now, this is just how it is going to be.

I wish you the best in completeing your tasks at hand. I can understand where you’re coming from. When you need to pay for bills, earning money becomes a priority.

I understand. Life has a way of getting in the way of creative efforts. I look forward to updates, whenever they may come (it is nice to know that they may be few and far between, but as long as i have hope for more).

I’m so happy I accidentally found your webcomic… I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever read, and I’m sure I’ll buy the printed version when I have some money to spend.

Hmmm that’s uncertain. I’m in the process of rewriting my original summary of the story (done in 2007) – cutting out extraneous material, refining the story and getting all the major plot points down. The story has evolved from it’s original outline due to the evolution of the characters, but I’m thinking (without having rewritten the whole thing) that it will be about 20 chapters. I won’t know for sure until I fix the outline.
Thank you for your kind words! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my comic! I’m working on becoming full time freelance, so I’ll be able to work on my comics more regularly, and get the story out faster! I’m really excited about the next few chapters- having to work a day job is really cramping my style!
