Perth is injecting Aiden with paraldehyde, which can be used as an anti-convulsant. This drug doesn’t suppress breathing in therapeutic doses, so it’s favored where there are no resuscitation facilities. Perth is giving it here as an intramuscular injection.

poor Perth! my heart goes out to all three of them (I know its silly)
I was misdiagnosed when i was little and the medication they put me on caused my blood sugars to to spike and bottom out. (nearly destroyed my pankriess [sp?]) but cause of that i would randomly collapse into seizures. . . . not fun. hence why i feel for a group of comic characters even though its not the same type of convulsion it still sucks.

AUGH. NEEDLE UNDER THE SKIN, NEEDLE UNDER THE SKIN. Does looking at it make anyone else’s flesh creep?

upon re reading this page I noticed Aiden has little tiny marks on his chest. Are they scars from repeated injections? Poor lad…and poor perth…

@E-rip-mave: Would be a rather short story if the main character died… actually, having the rest of the folks deal with his death would make for great plot.

I bawwww’d like a little girl on this page. There is so much emotion in so few panels. Perths fear, sorrow, (and what looks to be regret) all mingle perfectly in his face. I’m not sure if that was your intention, or if I can just see it because I want to, but bravo.
Once again, a beautiful page to a beautiful story.
